I have been searching forever for a recycled or low-impact light shade, which you'd think wouldn't be that hard, given that shades are made out of paper, fabric, plastic, and/or metal, all of which could come from recycled or biodegradable, organic material. But no.
Don't get me wrong- there are lots of cool and innovative eco-friendly lights out there, made from everything from sawed-off wine glasses to plastic milk jugs. But as far as getting just a simple lamp shade is concerned, Paper Cloud is your best bet. I was about to buy some lampshade frames and make some shades from my own vintage fabric, when I came across Paper Cloud's natural material (linen) shades.
